Manila, Sept. 23 -- Citing the importance of ensuring a stable power supply to attract more investments, the chief of the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) on Wednesday expressed confidence that more opportunities would follow the signing of a pact for an PHP8.2 billion energy project.

Officials of APECO, Huge Energy Co., Ltd. and Dong-A Global signed a memorandum of understanding to put up a 1,000-megawatt (MW) solar-powered project with battery energy storage system (BESS) and a substation.

APECO President and Chief Executive Officer Undersecretary Gil Taway IV, in his speech during the signing ceremony, said the project is fundamental in making the Casiguran-located economic zone a strategic economic area. ...
