Manila, Jan. 5 -- Firecracker-related injuries in Antique have reached 21 as of Monday, according to the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) here.

IPHO Information Officer Irene Duldoco said the cases were treated in one private and eight district hospitals, based on their monitoring report since Dec. 23, 2025.

"The last reported case was an eight year old girl from the municipality of Bugasong," Dulduco said in an interview.

She said the minor sustained injuries on her left thigh, leg and knees when she lit a whistle bomb on New Year's Day.

The first case, also a minor from Culasi town, was injured by a boga (homemade cannon).

She said that nine of the 21 injured are over 20 years old. The oldest is 64 and the rest are minor...
