Manila, Oct. 27 -- The Antique provincial government took possession of the 1898 Philippine revolutionary flag in a turnover ceremony at the municipal covered court in the town of Patnongon on Monday.
The flag was originally in the possession of the family of the late Col. Ruperto Abellon from Patnongon, after it was entrusted to him by then Gen. Leandro Fullon.
The flag came from Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, who later appointed Fullon as Politico-Military Governor of Antique and was bestowed the rank of general to lead an expeditionary force in Panay Island in 1898, or 127 years ago.
