Manila, July 14 -- Another Senate resolution has called for an inquiry into rising electricity rates and consumer complaints over "bill shock," disputed meter readings and system losses passed on to paying customers.

Senator Panfilo Lacson said Tuesday he filed Senate Resolution No. 511, directing the appropriate Senate committee to examine whether existing regulations adequately protect consumers from excessive, unreasonable or avoidable electricity charges.
