Manila, May 20 -- Cyclists in Angeles City, Pampanga now have access to 11 kilometers of bike lanes as part of the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) push for active transportation in the country.

In a media interview during the inspection of the bike lanes in Angeles City on Wednesday, DOTr Acting Secretary Giovanni "Banoy" Lopez said the project is part of the agency's expansion of active transport facilities in the country.

The project is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order for the construction of more bike lanes, walkways and road space for public transport that are both inclusive and more mobility-oriented.
