Manila, Jan. 19 -- All stations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) are now equipped with walkthrough metal detectors to boost security at the rail line without causing inconvenience to passengers.

In a statement on Monday, the MRT-3 said its security guards, officers, and station supervisors have also been oriented and trained in the use of these walkthrough metal detectors.

"Layunin nito na palakasin pa ang seguridad sa loob ng mga istasyon at tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng bawat pasahero bago makapasok sa platform (This aims to improve security inside stations and to ensure the safety of every passenger before entering the platform)," it said.
