India, Sept. 23 -- The provincial government of Albay has suspended the exportation of all quarry materials sourced from the province to destinations outside the Bicol Region.

In Executive Order No. 35, Governor Noel Rosal said the suspension is effective immediately and will remain until Nov. 3.

Exemptions to the prohibition may be granted on a case-by-case basis.

He said the order is needed to regulate the exportation of quarry materials outside of the Bicol Region for long-term sustainability, to protect local use, and ensure a safe and stable environment.
