Manila, July 3 -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday reiterated that its loyalty is "firmly anchored" to the Constitution, rule of law and duly constituted civilian authority.
"The AFP is a professional and non-partisan institution committed to its mandate to defend the sovereignty of the State," it said in a statement.
This, as some groups allegedly continue to call and demand that the AFP take sides in the ongoing political issues and tensions.
"The AFP strongly condemns any attempt to drag the organization into partisan politics, as its unwavering commitment to the Constitution remains paramount," the statement said.
