Manila, May 19 -- All nine pumping stations in Valenzuela City are expected to be operational next month, seen to help mitigate flooding during the rainy season, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Tuesday.
During the inspection of Wawang Pulo pumping station and flood gate in Valenzuela City, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said two more pumps are set to discharge an additional 5,000 liters of water per second.
"All nine will be done by the end of the month...after all these were done, the water flow is stronger," he said. "So that means it's really working. We just have to replicate it."
