Manila, July 26 -- Seven Chinese nationals were arrested in Cagayan de Oro City on July 23 for alleged violation of multiple environmental laws, including the Philippine Mining Act, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) said on Saturday.

The department said the seven were apprehended during an environmental law enforcement operation in Barangay Tuburan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Law enforcement authorities seized PHP18.9 million worth of equipment, including two hydraulic excavators, a separator, a unit wheel loader, two rolls of carpet/matting, two sets of water pumps, and one sack of washed sand.
