BUTUAN CITY, Oct. 15 -- About 600 farmers from Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, received their fuel subsidy cards during a one-day distribution event held on Tuesday under the facilitation of the Department of Agriculture in Caraga Region (DA-13).

In a statement on Wednesday, the DA-13 said that a total of PHP1.8 million in fuel subsidy was released, with each beneficiary receiving PHP3,000 worth of subsidy cards.

"The fuel subsidy will be used to procure fuel for their farm machinery and equipment, especially during the planting season," the agency said.

Among the recipients of the subsidy cards was Maricel Gelay, a female rice farmer from the area, who was grateful to the government for the support she received.
