Manila, Oct. 6 -- A 60-day Automatic Price Control (APC) is being implemented in the Municipality of Laua-an in Antique, currently under the state of calamity due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Opong.

The APC ensures the prices of the basic commodities will remain stable and the consumers will be protected from traders who might take advantage of the situation, said Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Antique Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Arnel Oliveros on Monday.

"The APC being implemented has a 60-day duration, unless otherwise lifted by the President," he said, adding that the APC will last until Nov. 27 since it took effect on Sept. 28.
