SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, July 8 -- In-person classes in all levels for both public and private schools have been suspended in five municipalities in Antique due to the effects of the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat) on Wednesday.

Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer III Michael Tolentino said face-to-face classes are suspended in towns of Anini-y, Tobias Fornier, Hamtic, Patnongon and Sibalom amid intermittent moderate to heavy rainfall in the province.

"The PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) has placed Antique under the yellow warning with moderate to heavy rainfall," Tolentino said in an interview.
