4 dead, 23 injured in Davao Region after 7.8-magnitude quake
DAVAO CITY, June 9 -- The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council-Davao (RDRRMC-11) reported Tuesday that four people died and 23 others were injured in the region following the magnitude-7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao the previous day.
In a bulletin, RDRRMC-11 said the quake affected 42 villages, displacing 8,322 families or 18,384 individuals in the region.
Of these, 1,544 families are currently staying in 14 evacuation centers, while seven families chose to stay elsewhere or with their relatives.
Authorities also recorded 98 damaged houses, including 12 completely damaged and 86 partially damaged.
