Manila, March 9 -- Three senior police officials received new assignments in the latest reorganization of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In a March 9 order, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. named Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan, head of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG), as director of Police Regional Office Calabarzon (PRO 4A).

Marantan replaces Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, who was appointed director of the Special Action Force (SAF) ahead of the retirement of SAF chief Maj. Gen. Mark Pespes.

Taking over as HPG director is Jessie Tamayao, currently executive officer of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR).

The reshuffle takes effect Monday.
