SAN CARLOS CITY, Oct. 14 -- A total of 18,240 underprivileged families here are receiving rice allocations under the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang (BBM) Rice Subsidy Program.

City Mayor Julier Resuello, in his State of the City Address on Friday afternoon, said the recipients will receive monthly BBM rice allocation until December.

Each family will receive 60 kg., distributed in four tranches.

"A grand total of more than one million kilos of rice will be distributed this year for all the recipients," Resuello said.

He said the City Social Welfare Office designed a system for orderly, scheduled distribution.

Resuello said the city buys rice from local farmers and rice traders for the program.
