Legazpi City, July 25 -- A 12-hour power interruption in parts of Albay is scheduled on Saturday, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) announced Friday, affecting some towns in the 3rd District served by the Albay Electric Cooperative (Aleco).

Joyce Balancio, NGCP lead specialist for government relations and regional affairs, said the brownout has been set from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on July 26.

"As part of our maintenance and preventive measures, every five years we test the metering point equipment used in the Ligao-Polangui 69 kilovolt (kV) line," she said.

Balancio said the metering equipment consists of the transformers and lightning arresters.
