DAVAO CITY, June 11 -- At least 12 people have died, 41 were injured, and 13 remain missing following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Maasim, Sarangani and triggered landslides in parts of Davao Region on June 8, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) said Thursday.

In a report, RDRRMC 11 (Davao) said the tremor affected 80 barangays, displacing 12,359 families, or 52,637 individuals. Of these, 874 families are staying in four evacuation centers, while seven families are outside evacuation sites.

The quake destroyed 55 houses and damaged 966 houses and 106 infrastructure facilities, with estimated losses of PHP500,000.
