Manila, Sept. 18 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) - Caraga Region has provided PHP3.6 million in livelihood grants to 12 Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) Livelihood Program Associations (PLPAs) from eight barangays in Butuan City on Thursday.

The release of the grants is seen to give residents new opportunities to build sustainable enterprises and strengthen their communities.

Each association received PHP300,000 to establish ventures ranging from consumer stores and rice trading to chicken egg production and agricultural and veterinary supplies.
