Manila, Aug. 29 -- The southwest monsoon or "habagat" and a low pressure area (LPA) northeast of Batanes will continue to drench Luzon and the Visayas, the weather bureau said Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was located 520 km. north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

Monsoon rains will prevail over Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga due to the habagat.

PAGASA warned residents in these areas of flash floods or landslides that may occur during heavy to intense rains.

The southwest monsoon will also bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Nuev...
