Manila, Oct. 1 -- The province of Dinagat Islands celebrated Wednesday the "Bugkosan sa Isla" Festival, a major highlight of this year's 19th Charter Day that touts the province's economic success.
"Bugkosan sa Isla," which means "to bind, unite, merge, or gather," commemorates the creation of Dinagat as the fifth province in the Caraga Region and serves as a thanksgiving for the successes the people and the province have achieved.
Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. said the festival reminds residents that progress is possible when they come together.
"The festival reminds us that progress is possible when we come together, the local governments, communities, and every Dinagatnon, toward one goal: a brighter, more resilient province," he said ...
