Mumbai, May 8 -- As the global film fraternity converges on the French Riviera for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival (12th May to 23rd May), India's presence this year reflects a rich tapestry of regional cinema, established auteurs, and contemporary stars.

Like every year Bharat Pavilion will be organised by the NFDC and FICCI under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB).

Leading the Punjabi film industry's debut stride is actor-singer Ammy Virk, who will attend the festival for the first time with his film 'Chardikala'. Accompanying him is co-star Roopi Gill, marking a significant moment for Punjabi cinema on an international stage.
