Mumbai, Aug. 12 -- The film 'Mangal Pandey: The Rising', released 20 years ago, brought patriotism and historical events alive on the big screen. This 2005 film featured Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji, Ameesha Patel, Toby Stephens and Kirron Kher in important roles. Directed by Ketan Mehta and produced by Bobby Bedi, Ketan Mehta and Deepa Sahni, the story of this film was based on the life of freedom fighter Mangal Pandey. Aamir Khan grew his hair and moustache instead of a wig to present this character in a real way. Four years after 'Dil Chahta Hai' (2001), Aamir made a comeback on the big screen with this film.
