India, Nov. 5 -- OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Images 2.5 on 8 September 2026, bringing faster image generation, improved visual quality and greater control over editing. The update focused on making AI-generated images more realistic while addressing a common frustration: changing one element of an image without affecting everything else.

According to OpenAI, Images 2.5 reduced image generation latency by up to 50% compared with Images 2.0. The model also introduced improvements in natural lighting, textures, reference image accuracy and consistency across multiple editing instructions.
