India, Aug. 11 -- Nutanix has released an open source Model Context Protocol MCP server for Nutanix Cloud Platform NCP that connects AI assistants and developer tools to Cloud infrastructure. The server is built on the Prism v4 API and keeps existing security, permissions, and governance controls in place.

The goal is to support hybrid multicloud environments where AI can help with routine infrastructure work while still operating within defined access boundaries. Direct AI access to production systems raises issues around permissions, monitoring, and accountability, so the integration is designed around controlled execution rather than open access.
