India, Sept. 30 -- Google is bringing the Fitbit Air to India at Rs 13,999, giving the growing screenless wearable category another major entrant. The bigger question is whether Indian buyers will pay a premium for a fitness tracker that deliberately leaves the display behind.

The Fitbit Air goes on sale October 2 through the Google Store, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales. Google is also bundling three months of Google Health premium membership with the device.

Its Indian price stands out. Fitbit Air costs $99 in the United States, while the India launch price places it closer to premium wearable territory.
