India, Aug. 20 -- Anthropic is making Claude more useful with an update to its Google Workspace connectors. Claude can now do more than simply read emails or find files. It can take actions in Gmail and Google Drive, making it more like an AI assistant that can actually complete tasks for users.

One of the biggest changes is coming to Gmail. Claude can now draft, send, reply to and forward emails through its Gmail connector. Users can ask Claude to find an email, understand the conversation and prepare a response.

For example, instead of writing a reply yourself, you can ask Claude to prepare one and send it after you approve it. Anthropic says approval is requested by default before Claude sends an email.
