India, June 2 -- Asus has finally given its Xbox Ally handheld the screen upgrade many players wanted. The new ROG Xbox Ally X20 brings a larger 7.4-inch OLED display, improved controls, and a special translucent design to mark 20 years of Republic of Gamers.

But Asus has also made one unusual choice. The handheld will arrive as part of a bundle with ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 gaming AR glasses, and not as a standalone device at launch. For buyers who mainly wanted a better screen on the Ally itself, that could make the upgrade harder to justify.
