Punjab, Oct. 1 -- Amit Shah chaired a meeting at Kartavya Bhawan on Thursday between the chief ministers of Chhattisgarh and Odisha on the Mahanadi water dispute. Both states have written to the Central Water Commission saying they will accept its decision.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, the Chairman of the Central Water Commission, both chief secretaries and senior ministry officials.

Chhattisgarh's position was summarised bluntly by its chief minister: whatever the CWC decides in the interest of both states, both will accept.
