Punjab, Sept. 9 -- Indian travel planning treats the monsoon as a period to avoid. For a set of destinations, that is exactly backwards - the rain is the reason the place is worth seeing.
Where it works
The Western Ghats are the clearest case. The landscape that draws people is green and full precisely because of the monsoon, and in the dry months much of what appears in the photographs simply is not there. The same logic applies to plateau and waterfall country across the Deccan.
Why the economics favour you
