Punjab, Oct. 3 -- Kumkum Mohod won the women's individual recurve gold in a shoot-off against South Korea's Oh Yejin - India's first ever medal in the event. She is 17. She won the team gold the day before. Pranavi Urs took India's first women's golf gold the same morning.

Two golds in two days, at seventeen

On Friday, Kumkum shot two 10s in a crosswind to settle the team final against Korea. On Saturday she beat a Korean archer in an individual shoot-off.

A shoot-off is one arrow each, closest to centre. There is no margin, no averaging out a bad shot, and no second chance. Doing that against Korea, in the discipline Korea has owned for forty years, at 17, in your first Asian Games, is close to the limit of what the sport allows.
