Punjab, Sept. 12 -- Haiwaan opened to Rs 3 crore net in India on Thursday, from 7,224 shows and a gross of Rs 3.60 crore. It ranks among Akshay Kumar's lowest post-pandemic openers.
The gap between anticipation and turnout
The film was one of the more awaited releases of the year, largely because it reunites Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after several years, under Priyadarshan's direction. Anticipation among trade watchers and turnout on a Thursday are different things, and this is a clear example of the distance between them.
A show count of 7,224 is not a small release. Rs 3 crore net across that many screens means the seats were available and were not filled.
