Drishyam, Sept. 23 -- The Conclusion arrives on 2 October, on Gandhi Jayanti. Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, and director Abhishek Pathak says the character is darker this time. The trailer has been out since 9 September.
The break from the original
The third film tells an entirely new story and is not connected to a Malayalam original. Both previous Hindi Drishyam films were remakes of Jeethu Joseph's Malayalam pictures.
That is the significant fact about this release. A Hindi franchise that existed because a Malayalam one existed is now writing its own third act, which is either confidence or exposure depending on how it lands.
