Pacific officials step up COP31 coordination
Fiji, Sept. 16 -- Pacific Islands Forum senior officials have stepped up regional coordination for COP31, focusing on key Pacific priorities and negotiating positions ahead of the UN climate summit.
Officials met for the seventh meeting of the COP31 Pacific Senior Officials Taskforce, building on discussions at the recent Pacific Islands Forum Leaders' Meeting.
The meeting focused on advancing the Pacific Partnership Policy Framework and identifying key Pacific "landing zones" for the Pre-COP and COP31 negotiations.
Officials also discussed preparations for the Pre-COP and the Leaders' event, which will provide further opportunities for Pacific leaders to set out the region's climate priorities.
