Fiji, July 24 -- Pacific ICT Ministers have begun discussions on the region's digital future, with Papua New Guinea calling for stronger cooperation on digital transformation, artificial intelligence and online safety.

Opening the Forum ICT Ministers Meeting, Chair and Papua New Guinea's Minister for Information and Communication, Robert Naguri welcomed delegates as Papua New Guinea assumed the chairmanship of the meeting.

"As Papua New Guinea assumes the chairmanship of this meeting, it is my great pleasure, on behalf of the Government and people of Papua New Guinea, to welcome you to Port Moresby for this important gathering."
