Fiji, Feb. 24 -- Moana Pasifika has postponed plans to take a Super Rugby match to Tonga this year after failing to secure the necessary sponsorship.

In a statement, the club confirmed it had made the "difficult decision" to delay bringing a game to Tonga, despite making it a priority.

"Bringing this game to Tonga has been a priority for us, and we've explored every avenue possible to make it a reality, but unfortunately we were unable to secure the necessary sponsorship to bring the game to Tonga at this time."

Moana Pasifika CEO Debbie Sorensen said the decision was disappointing but reaffirmed the club's commitment to the region.
