Fiji, Aug. 7 -- Australia has announced FJD$23.5 million (US$16.53 million) in support of Fiji's HIV response, with Foreign Minister Penny Wong describing the country's HIV outbreak as both a public health and security challenge while reaffirming Canberra's commitment to its partnership with Fiji and the wider Pacific.

Speaking at a press conference in Suva, Wong said the funding reflects the strength of the Australia-Fiji Vuvale Partnership and Australia's commitment to standing with Fiji in tackling the crisis.
