Bhubaneswar, Oct. 18 -- A young man went missing after drowning while bathing in the Puri Canal near Madhuban under Barang police station limits in Cuttack district on Sunday.

The missing youth has been identified as Chandan Das, a native of Bhadrak who works at a petrol pump in the Raghunathpur area of Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, Chandan had gone to bathe in the canal near Madhuban when he drowned and went missing. The circumstances leading to the incident are not yet clear.

After receiving information about the incident, a Fire Services team rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to trace the missing youth.
