Bhubaneswar, Feb. 12 -- In a tragic incident, a youth sustained serious injuries after being attacked with a sharp weapon following a minor altercation at College Square in Odisha'sBaripada on Thursday.

The injured has been identified as Himanshu Barik.

According to sources, a heated argument broke out between a group of college students and some local youths at College Square. What initially began as a verbal dispute over the game of badminton soon escalated into violence. In the course of the confrontation, Himanshu Barik was allegedly attacked with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him injured.

He was immediately rushed to Baripada Medical College and Hospital by some local residents for treatment.
