Bhubaneswar, Oct. 10 -- Hundreds of women in Jamunda panchayat under Jeypore block continued an anti-liquor campaign on Saturday. They carried sticks and visited villages to stop the sale of illegal alcohol.

As per reports, the women targeted ountry liquor shops and brewing units and alleged that alcohol consumption caused problems for families in the area.

The campaign brought together women from 19 villages who alleged that the police and Excise Department failed to take action against illegal liquor traders.

Led by Jamunda Panchayat Sarpanch Manadhar Gadba, the women visited villages and destroyed country liquor. They also reportedly took out liquor stored in people's houses and destroyed it.
