Bhubaneswar, Aug. 31 -- A woman reportedly died after a mud wall of her house collapsed during heavy rain in Raigudi village under Champua police station limits in Odisha's Keonjhar district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Purnimi Mahant. According to reports, the incident took place at night when Purnimi was reportedly sleeping inside her house.

The area has been witnessing continuous rainfall, which is believed to have weakened the mud wall. The wall allegedly collapsed suddenly while she was asleep, leaving her trapped under the debris.

Purnimi's mother-in-law and some neighbours reportedly rushed to the spot upon hearing the noise. They tried to rescue her from beneath the fallen wall and managed to pull her out. She was ...
