Bhubaneswar, May 12 -- A woman died allegedly after being administered a wrong injection by a quack at a medicine shop in Bolangir district of Odisha, triggering serious concerns over illegalmedical practices and alleged administrative inaction in rural areas.
The incident took place at Karlapita village under Muribahal police limits. The deceased has been identified as Kaushalya Panika.
According to sources, Kaushalya had fallen ill on May 10 and had gone to Maa Ghantasuni Medicine Store at Haldi village along with her granddaughter for treatment. It has been alleged that a quack identified as Tunu Bagarti administered an injection to the woman at the medicine shop.
