Bhubaneswar, July 13 -- A woman was allegedly attacked and robbed of Rs 36 lakh in cash on Saturday night on Taladanda Road near Samrat Hall in Cuttack while she was on her way to Kolkata to purchase gold.

According to information available, the woman owns a jewellery shop near High Court Square in Cuttack. She had planned to travel to Kolkata from OMP Square on Sunday night to buy gold and was carrying Rs 36 lakh in cash for the purchase.

The incident took place when she was travelling with her brother. As they were passing through Taladanda Road near Samrat Hall, two unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked them and forcibly snatched a bag containing the cash.
