Bhubaneswar, Sept. 8 -- A protest was staged outside the Kalahandi Collector's office on Tuesday after the bodies of a woman and her daughter were brought to the premises following their death due to alleged electrocution in Kalahandi.

The incident reportedly took place in Karlasoda village under Kalahandi Sadar police station limits. The deceased have been identified as Sheetal Naik and her mother Lalita Naik.

According to reports, Sheetal was drying clothes when she allegedly came in contact with an electric wire and suffered a severe electric shock. Seeing her daughter in danger, Lalita reportedly rushed to rescue her. However, she too came in contact with the wire and suffered an electric shock.
