Bhubaneswar, May 25 -- Speculation over the political future of Biju Janata Dal (BJD)Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantaray intensified on Monday amid discussions that he may quit the regional party and join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Political circles were abuzz with reports suggesting that Samantaray, who is believed to have been dissatisfied with developments within the BJD for the past few months, could resign from the party and formally join the BJP either later in the day or on Tuesday.
