Bhubaneswar, June 4 -- A groom allegedly left a wedding ceremony midway after reportedly being persuaded not to go ahead with the marriage in Odisha's Balasore district on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the Sahadevkhunta area, where a temple wedding ceremony was being conducted. The groom, identified as Khirod Mohanta, reportedly left the venue while the rituals were underway, leaving the bride at the altar.

According to information, Khirod and the woman had been in a relationship for the past three years. The couple had already solemnised their marriage in court and were participating in a traditional wedding ceremony at a temple on the day of the incident.
