Bhubaneswar, June 24 -- A major tragedy unfolded in Kolkata's Taratala area on Wednesday after the roof of an under-construction warehouse suddenly collapsed, leaving more than 30 people feared trapped under heavy debris. The incident triggered panic in the locality as rescue operations were launched immediately.

According to initial reports, several workers were engaged in construction work inside the three-floor warehouse when the structure gave way without warning. The sudden collapse left workers trapped inside the rubble, prompting urgent efforts from locals who first rushed to the site and began attempting rescue work before emergency services arrived.
