Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- Voting is underway on a no-confidence motion against Tikhiri Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Chameli Ojha from Mahakalapada block in Odisha's Kendrapara district on Thursday.

Of the 22 ward members in the panchayat, 21 had brought the no-confidence motion on July 23. On July 27, the Sub-Collector verified the signatures of the ward members who had moved the motion and fixed a date for the voting.

The controversy began on June 11, when police allegedly took Chameli Ojha and her brother into custody from the Mahakalapada block premises.
