Bhubaneswar, June 22 -- A migrant worker from Kerala was allegedly assaulted by a group of people in the Dhobapada locality of Sambalpur's Khetrajpur police station area on Sunday.

The migrant worker was a welding mechanic in Bargarh district.

The worker had reportedly visited Sambalpur on Sunday in search of employment, but he was unable to communicate in the local language, which sparked suspicion among some residents, who allegedly surrounded him and physically assaulted him after he failed to answer them due to the language barrier.
