Bhubaneswar, April 7 -- Residents staged a road blockade in Odisha's Bolangir district, demanding compensation for extensive damage caused by a recent hailstorm. The protest was held at Padel Chhak on the Patnagarh-Padmapur road, disrupting vehicular movement in the area.

According to reports, the hailstorm caused significant damage to houses in the affected areas, while several people also sustained injuries. 

Villagers alleged that no assistance was provided by the administration or the government following the incident, leading to growing discontent.

In response, residents blocked the road to press for immediate relief and compensation.
